Ames provides comprehensive calibration and repair services. We offer calibration service on all Ames models, as well as DoAll Portable Hardness testers with model numbers 12000 or newer.*

How to Request Service for Your Ames Tester
We make every effort to expedite all calibration and repair services so you can have the highest standard of precision with minimal disruption to your process. Simply follow the steps below, and we’ll process your request and return your repaired/calibrated Ames tester to you quickly so you can keep operating with maximum quality and minimum down time!
Download and complete our RMA form (link above). Send the RMA*, along with your Purchase Order, either as an email attachment or include a printed copy in the package when you mail your tester in for service.
- For repairs, an initial $150.00 repair evaluation fee will be charged and applied to your repair costs. You will then be notified of the condition of the tester and any potential issues so that you can make a decision on whether to fix or not.
The base rate for calibration and repair is $453.35. This amount may change once the tester is calibrated depending whether replacement parts were required.
Package your tester securely and include your name, phone number, department and relevant contact information so we can reach you regarding your request. If your RMA and PO were not already submitted electronically, please print hard copies and include them in the package.

How to Often Should Your Ames Tester Be Calibrated?
*If you would like to have an older tester calibrated or repaired, we can offer the service without certification of the tester.
*All associated shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer.
*If we receive a tester without RMA and PO form, the tester will be returned (at customer expense) without service. It is important that this documentation be sent either electronically or hard copies included when shipping us the item(s) to be serviced.
